It is with deep regret that I inform the Senate of the death, on 5 October 2026, of the Hon. John Neil AO, a former Speaker of the House of Representatives and member for the division of Wakefield, South Australia, from 1983 to 2004. I understand that arrangements will be made to move a motion of condolence at a future date.
