House debates Bills
Domestic Gas Reservation Levy Bill 2026; Second Reading
Andrew Wilkie Clark, Independent
6:13 pm
Just to clear up any confusion, there are three bills. It's been a cognate debate. We've dealt with the second of three bills, and I'm now moving to the third bill, which, to be clear, is the Domestic Gas Reservation Levy Bill 2026.

I wanted to ask a question before we vote on it. Can I do that?
Andrew Wilkie Clark, Independent
Member for Kennedy, out of courtesy to you, you may ask your question.

I ask this of the minister, through the chair. They've got an agreement on price in Western Australia. We are asking here for some assurance on the issue of price. We're very supportive of the bill—

Member for Kennedy, resume your seat. I thought we'd resolved this matter. The minister has been very clear: there will be an opportunity for this to be pursued in the main chamber, I presume tomorrow. So what you're requesting has been dealt with, and I think it's exactly what you're seeking. I do want to deal with this third bill. I'll start again. This is the Domestic Gas Reservation Levy Bill. The question is that this bill be now read a second time.
Question agreed to.
Bill read a second time.
Ordered that this bill be reported to the House without amendment.
We got there! Member for Kennedy, you'll have ample opportunity to explore this important issue in the main chamber tomorrow.

If I have—I might've been conned, I think!
Andrew Wilkie Clark, Independent
No, no, no. That would never happen in this place.
