I want to be fair to the Leader of the Opposition. Unlike media reports about the shadow treasurer, he's declared his interests. The member for Hume has registered his interests in family trusts and in holding companies, but the question is: what is floating under the Cayman-like waves of those arrangements?

On 10 March, the Sydney Morning Herald reported:

… But his asset portfolio is both opaque and labyrinthine, with family trusts and holding companies

…   …   …

Ultimately, it leaves a lot unaccounted for behind Taylor's main company, Gufee Pty Ltd, so listed on his official register of interests.

The Courier Mail in February reported:

Mr Taylor holds interests in an estimated nine properties across New South Wales, the majority structured in a network of private companies—
