I inform the House that on Monday 11 March 2024, the Speaker issued a writ for the election of a member to serve for the electoral division of Cook in the state of New South Wales to fill the casual vacancy caused by the resignation of the Hon. Scott John Morrison. The dates in connection with the by-election are fixed as follows: close of rolls, Monday 18 March 2024; close of nominations, Thursday 21 March 2024; date of polling, Saturday 13 April 2024; return of writ, on or before Wednesday 19 June 2024.
