I inform the Senate that I have received a letter from Senator Mason resigning his place as a senator for the state of Queensland. Pursuant to the provision of section 21 of the Constitution, I have notified the Governor of Queensland of the vacancy in the representation of that state caused by his resignation. I table the letter and a copy of my letter to the Governor of Queensland.
