I have received letters from party leaders nominating senators to fill vacancies on three statutory authorities.

by leave—I move:

(1) That, in accordance with the provisions of the Archives Act 1983, the Senate elect Senator Carr to

be a member of the Advisory Council on Australian Archives for a period of 3 years, on and from

today.

(2) That, in accordance with the provisions of the National Library Act 1960, the Senate elect Senator

Bilyk to be a member of the Council of the National Library of Australia for a period of 3 years,

on and from today.

(3) That, in accordance with the provisions of the Parliamentary Contributory Superannuation Act

1948, the Senate appoints Senators Abetz and Carr as trustees to serve on the Parliamentary

Retiring Allowances Trust on and from today
