The government is committed to ensuring that all key stakeholder groups that wish to have their voices heard in this process can do so. To this end, the department has agreed to pay for the two proposed ballots of the two communities around Kimba and the nearby station. These are standard procurement contracts on a fee-for-service basis. As this matter is before the courts, it would be inappropriate to comment further until such time as those proceedings are finalised.

The opposition will not be supporting this order for the production of documents motion today, for a simple reason: some of the documents that are sought relate to matters that are currently before the courts. We believe it would be inappropriate for these documents to be produced and, as a consequence, insert this chamber into a legal process that is currently underway.

The question is that motion No. 1025 be agreed to.
