At the request of Senator Joyce, I move:

That the Senate—

(a)

notes that:

(i)

on 30 April 2007, CPA Australia presented Senator John Watson with the Meritorious Service Award, and

(ii)

the Meritorious Service Award is the highest honour bestowed by CPA Australia; and

(b)

commends Senator Watson, the father of the Senate, for his long-standing contribution to the Senate and the people of Australia particularly for his work on superannuation.
