That the Senate—
- (a)
- notes the recent release of the Report of the International Panel of Independent Legal Experts on: Special Permit (“Scientific”) Whaling under International Law on 12 May 2006 in Paris, and the report Slaughtering Science: The case against Japanese whaling in the Antarctic on 25 May 2006;
- (b)
- calls on the Government to urgently consider legal proceedings against this ‘unlawful’ whaling; and
- (c)
- notes the Government regards its continued strong diplomatic action as having the best chance of success.
