I'll move a second reading amendment to the Aged Care Legislation Amendment (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Aged Care Commissioner and Other Measures) Bill 2026, which has been circulated in the chamber by my colleague Senator Allman-Payne on behalf of the Australian Greens. At the request of Senator Allman-Payne, I move:

At the end of the motion, add ", but the Senate:

(a) notes that the Government’s commitment to the Integrated Assessment Tool and the unfair co-payments system has hurt older people; and

(b) calls on the Government to:

(i) abolish the Integrated Assessment Tool,

(ii) end the regime of excessive co-payments, and

(iii) fully fund aged care, including in-home support".
