I move:

That the Senate take note of the answer given by Senator Watts to my question on multiculturalism.

Last week an accused terrorist tried to hijack a plane trying to fly to Tel Aviv to conduct a 9/11-style attack. United Arab Emirates prosecutors have announced that the accused co-pilot was radicalised in Australia when he was here on an international student visa. They've linked the co-pilot's time in Australia to an extremist, high-profile Melbourne Islamic organisation called MyCentre. Last month, One Nation released our investigation into Labor's multiculturalism grants rort. They revealed these grants are a Labor Party slush fund, increasing from $6 million a year in 2023 to more than $325 million last year. Last year, 94 per cent of the money went to Labor seats. Now we know more than 68,000 grants went to MyCentre, linked to the Flydubai hijacker's radicalisation. You can't make this up.

I asked the minister whether he'd got security advice about this organisation from ASIO or the AFP before they handed over money—no answer. I asked if they had even bothered to do a Google search on any of the grant recipients—no answer. Well, One Nation did, and we found terrible radical posts from the so-called leaders of this organisation. The Labor government didn't even bother to check whether they were funding extremism with a Google search, let alone security advice. I finally asked the minister, 'Are any of the organisations they funded currently on a terror watch list?' No answer.

Why is the government even funding this? Well, I will tell you: it's so Labor can buy votes. They don't care if it's accidentally funding terrorism, and they don't think these deradicalisation programs are doing anything, either. Two hundred and ninety-eight people are participating in deradicalisation programs as of 30 June. That's up 18 per cent in just six months. Labor and the Greens have already voted down One Nation's bill to keep foreign terrorist fighters out. They continue to allow alleged ISIS members back into Australia while the national terrorism threat level remains probable. Now it looks like they'll keep funding extremists, and with taxpayers' money too. (Time expired)

Question agreed to.
