I move the motion as amended:
That the following matter be referred to the Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade References Committee for inquiry and report by 8 March 2027:
The use and impact of monetary, expenditure based and numerical restrictions on Department of Veterans' Affairs-funded health treatment, with particular reference to:
(b) the use of monetary limits, expenditure thresholds, numerical treatment limits, review points, additional approval requirements, co-contributions or other restrictions affecting access to treatment;
(c) the consequences of such restrictions for continuity of care, clinical outcomes and veterans with complex, chronic or multiple service-related conditions;
(d) the particular impact on veterans and health service providers in regional, rural and remote Australia;
(e) the adequacy of existing statutory protections and options for strengthening legislative protections against monetary and numerical restrictions on veterans' health treatment;
(f) the financial, clinical and administrative implications of restricting, removing or legislatively prohibiting monetary and numerical limits on veterans' health treatment;
(g) consultation undertaken with veterans, ex-service organisations, health practitioners and other affected stakeholders; and
(h) any related matters.
