No, there are some things that are beyond politics, and that should be one of them. But what I would say is this: the coalition have had an opportunity over many months to be in negotiations with the government, but the reality is they couldn't negotiate because that would require them to take out time from their favourite pastime, which is fighting amongst themselves.
