I understand that Senator Patrick is always keen to find a way to make this an ASIC related point whenever he can, and that's fine. It's one of the issues that Senator Patrick feels strongly about, and I respect that. But ASIC has no role here. The compliance arrangements are managed through the Australian Taxation Office, and every business that generates income and profits in Australia needs to provide relevant information about their income and their tax arrangements to the tax office on the same basis, subject to the same laws and the same conditions.
