Questions without Notice

Carbon Pricing

My question is to Senator Wong, the Minister representing the Minister for Climate Change and Energy Efficiency. Does the minister agree with the Prime Minister's advice to Victorian fruit-packing business Geoffrey Thompson Holdings, which has been hit with a one-month carbon tax bill of over $10,000—a 15 per cent increase—that the business should simply pass on these additional costs to its customers in full? If the minister does not agree with the Prime Minister's proposition, will she at least concede it shows how dreadfully out of touch the government is with Australian agricultural businesses?
