Given that neither the military nor the Department of Defence made the decision to cancel Land 17, the backbone of the Army's modernisation program, why was political expediency the primary driver in this decision rather than the defence of Australia? Has there been or does the minister anticipate any diplomatic fallout from South Korea as a result of this decision?
