I understood that this was a project that actually attracted bipartisan support in this parliament. I understood that there were some on the other side that actually understood—and Senator Back is one of those. I understood that this is a project that people knew would be able to help us transform the way we live. This is not just merely a question of being able to produce world-class research. It is a massive infrastructure project that will create the technologies for the future and will help us reshape the way in which we live, whether it be through the provision of off-grid power supplies or whether it be in the provision of supercomputing capacity, which will have massive implications.
