Each box represents a portfolio. Cabinet Ministers are shown in bold type. As a general rule, there is one department in each portfolio. However, there is a Department of Veterans’ Affairs in the Defence portfolio and a Department of Regional Australia, Regional Development and Local Government in the Prime Minister’s portfolio. The title of a department does not necessarily reflect the title of a minister in all cases.

In the absence of Senator Evans during question time this week, I advise the Senate of the following ministerial arrangements: I will take questions as Minister representing the Prime Minister; Senator Sherry will take questions as Minister representing the Minister for Defence, the Minister for Veterans’ Affairs, the Minister for Defence Science and Personnel, and the Minister for Defence Materiel; and Senator Carr will take questions as Minister representing the Minister for Tertiary Education, Skills, Jobs and Workplace Relations, the Minister for School Education, Early Childhood and Youth, and the Minister for Employment Participation and Childcare.
