Labor will be opposing these amendments. We have fundamental concerns with the entirety of the sham contract regime that is proposed in the bill and the range of remedies that are set out in the bill. In the second reading debate I set out the reasons for our concerns and they have been touched on today in the debate. We do not consider the government amendments do anything more than tinker around the edges. The fundamental problems with the legislation remain. We do not consider these amendments deal sufficiently with the core problems in terms of the enforcement provisions of the legislation.
