My question is to the Minister for Ageing representing the Minister for Health and Ageing. Is the minister aware that next Tuesday, 14 November, is World Diabetes Day? Will the minister outline to the Senate the prevalence of this disease in the Australian community, particularly amongst Indigenous Australians? Can he describe the Howard government’s commitment to the prevention and treatment of diabetes?
