The Greens have brought forward this disallowance motion simply because it is discriminatory. It discriminates against 500,000 people of the ACT and it discriminates against same-sex couples across the country. It effectively legislates for discrimination because of the attitude of the Prime Minister and the Attorney-General. I would like to move that the debate be adjourned until 17 August because I believe this matter can be fixed properly by such an adjournment. Let me say why.
