I rise today to congratulate and recognise several outstanding athletes from across Eden-Monaro who are achieving remarkable success on the national stage. First I want to acknowledge Pat Wilson from the Pambula Merimbula Golf Club, who has been named the New South Wales Golf Course Superintendents Association's Superintendent of the Year for this year. It's a prestigious honour recognising Pat's exceptional work, his leadership and his contribution to the turf industry across New South Wales after working both at Wimbledon in England and on golf courses in the United States, Pat's dedication to the club, his staff, his volunteers and the next generation of turf managers make him a really worthy recipient, so well done, Pat. I look forward to catching you soon.

I also want to recognise a talented group of young motocross riders who proudly represented our region at the 2026 KTM Australian Junior Motocross Championships in Shepparton, in particular Raphael Rossiter from Wamboin, who claimed the Australian Championship in the 250cc class and finished third overall in the 125cc class despite challenging conditions and mechanical setbacks. Congratulations also to Kai Frezza, Trav Barker, CJ Savill, Billie Savill, Beau Johnson and Oli Boucher, who showcased their skill, determination and commitment at the national championships. Trav Barker and Kai Frezza were also selected in the New South Wales Tailwhips team, which is a tremendous achievement. These young athletes are supported, supported by dedicated families, coaches, volunteers, local clubs and sponsors, whose efforts helped make these successes possible.

While we're talking about motorsport, I also want to congratulate Bathurst 1000 podium finisher Zach Bates, who delivered a career-best performance at Mount Panorama. Zach claimed his first Supercars podium, secured his first provisional pole position and won the top 10 shootout, making his family, friends and the entire Eden-Monaro community incredibly proud.

A special congratulations also goes to Goulburn student Jordan Sturgiss, who, along with Cooper Gersbach, recently won gold at the Australian Under-18s Championships for lawn bowls in the boys pairs—an outstanding achievement that reflects tremendous hard work and dedication. Jordan started playing family social bowls and quite enjoyed it, so when an opportunity arose to represent Goulburn High School, he grabbed it with both hands. He's now one of the region's best young players, and it's great seeing him go from strength to strength in this sport.

On behalf of the people of Eden-Monaro, a big congratulations to Pat, Raphael, Kai, Trav, CJ, Billie, Beau, Oli, Zach and Jordan. Your achievements are an inspiration to people right across our region. This is what we do in Eden-Monaro. We punch well above our weight and we make sure we let people know about it.
