I move:
That, in accordance with the provisions of the Public Works Committee Act 1969, the following proposed work be referred to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Public Works for consideration and report: Attorney-General's Department—Proposed fit-out of existing leased premises at 3-5 National Circuit, Barton, Australian Capital Territory.
The Attorney-General's Department is proposing to fit out existing leased premises at 3-5 National Circuit, Barton, ACT to enable the department to consolidate from three buildings into one in Canberra. The scope of works includes a new reception area, shared meeting facilities, demolition of existing modular and fixed built form on the work floors, construction of new enclose spaces and workstations, new staff amenities including kitchens and breakout spaces and the reconfiguration or replacement of building services.
The estimated total cost of the works is $39.93 million dollars excluding GST. The works must be referred to, considered by and reported on to both houses of the parliament by the public works committee before work may commence.
Subject to parliamentary approval, the works are expected to commence in June 2026 for completion in December 2027. I commend the motion to the house.
Question agreed to.
