The Liberal government's plan for a stronger future is working. This year's budget will provide cost-of-living relief right now for thousands of families in my electorate of Reid. Over the past couple of months, I have heard from many people in my electorate about how the cost of living is having a real impact on the household budget. That's why the government is taking practical measures right now by cutting the fuel excise in half. This will save Australians 22 cents a litre every time they fill up their car, helping the owners of around 104,000 cars in Reid. These savings will start to be felt at the bowser just in time for the family Easter road trip.

The government's tax plan has already benefited 96,500 people in Reid. This year around 82,600 taxpayers in Reid will benefit from further tax relief of up to $1,500. The Liberal government is continuing to deliver lower taxes for working families and small businesses across the Reid community. The Labor Party believes that taxpayers' money is best spent in their pocket. Well, the Liberal government knows that it's better spent by hardworking Australians on the things that matter most to them. We are delivering a strong economy today so that all Australians can enjoy the stronger future of tomorrow.
