I will make a couple of unscripted comments on the importance of the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Legislation Amendment (Defence Force) Bill 2016. It's not perfect. There could've been some more consultation. But at the end of the day we want to make sure, as I'm sure the government does, that there's less red tape. The less red tape, the better. And if our men and women who have served this country can get a more commonsense approach to the handling of their issues under the Minister for Veterans' Affairs, then that's a good thing, and I encourage the minister to re-dedicate himself to that most important task of looking after the men and women who have served our country.
