Earlier today in the House the member for North Sydney claimed that I was a friend of Eddie Obeid and implied that I had knowledge of his tax affairs. I wish to put on the record that, to the best of my recollection, I have never met Mr Obeid, nor do I have any knowledge of his tax affairs outside of what has been publicly reported.

Today in question time the Assistant Treasurer claimed that the coalition and I plan to rip off Tasmania. This is the second day running when this false claim has been made. Tasmania will be no worse off under a coalition government.
