Mr Speaker, I seek your indulgence to extend an apology to a former member of the Senate and a former minister in the Whitlam government, Senator Ken Wiedt. Yesterday, I mistakenly referred to him as the ‘late’ Senator Ken Wriedt. I apologise for that and I acknowledge his entitlement to invoke the Mark Twain defence.
