On behalf of the Joint Committee on Public Accounts and Audit, I present the following report, Report 519: Inquiry into the administration of the National Disability Insurance Scheme.

Report made a parliamentary paper in accordance with standing order 39(e).

by leave—Very, very quickly, before we run out of time, the NDIS is one of Australia's most significant public policy reforms, but the committee did, with the assistance of the Auditor-General's office, see some areas for improvement in governance not only in the NDIA but also in the safety commission as well. The committee made a series of recommendations, and, in the interest of time, I will just say thank you to the secretariat for all of their hard work; to the Deputy Chair; of course, to my friend the member for Dickson, who made some outstanding recommendations that were adopted by the committee; and to all committee members. We want the NDIS to be working and to be sustainable, but we want to make sure that the providers are held to a high standard and that the participants have the care that they need to excel in their lives. There are areas for improvement, especially around the way in which the commission is functioning, that will make a huge difference. I commend the report to the House, and I thank all members for it. In the interest of time, I'll leave my remarks there. I ask leave of the House to present executive minutes on reports of the Joint Committee of Public Accounts and Audit.
