I've committed to 80 walks in 80 days, including the 142-kilometre Great Walk in November to raise support for Menslink and awareness about the great work they do. Menslink works with young boys and men through a range of mentoring, counselling and education programs right across the capital region. They help young guys develop important life skills, resilience, mental health awareness and healthy relationships. Lastly, Menslink provides support to more than 10,000 young people across our region, building community and connection.
So far, I've completed 52 out of the 80 walks, so there are 28 more to go. This morning, I was out with Simon and Charmaine. Yesterday evening, I was with the magnificent member for Werriwa. It's been an opportunity to get out and talk with Canberrans and friends of Canberra about ways we can build better communities, talk about families or debate team selections in the test cricket team, and the funds raised go directly to services making a difference in this region.
This is the fourth year I've participated in the 142-kilometre Great Walk, a five-day walk with more than 30 community leaders who are prepared to walk the talk. If you want to shake the dust off your shoes and come out for a walk, drop me a line.
