I thank the member for Calare for his question and his passion for the great regional city of Bathurst and, indeed, for all of his electorate. The Bathurst race every October is, of course, something that is a national event. It's nationally significant, not just a local event, and indeed attracts global coverage. I will table a letter from the Assistant Minister to the Prime Minister to the Mayor of Bathurst in response to the request from the local councillor, Robert Taylor, that goes through the process of the Thriving Suburbs and Growing Regions programs that we have and encourages them to put forward for the applications, which I understand will open soon. That's a program run by the Minister for Regional Development here. It can provide funding of between $250,000 and $15 million to local government entities for capital works. So it would provide a potential opportunity.

I take the opportunity to say as well that Bathurst Regional Council has received $8.518 million in the current financial period through the Financial Assistance Grant program. It has received a $10.9 million commitment under the Roads to Recovery Program across the five-year period commencing in 2024—an increase of $3½ million from the previous period—which local government can use flexibly for any roads in their jurisdiction. It has also received $4.1 million for the Ngurang Arts Residency, $1.7 million for Bathurst's Connected Regional Neighbourhoods project and, in addition to that, some half a million dollars for a project under the Safer Local Roads and Infrastructure Program, as well as $1.7 million for six projects under the Black Spot Program.

My government does support local infrastructure through local government. Local government plays a critical role, and I know that Mount Panorama is a very important piece of infrastructure not just for Bathurst but for the nation as well. I look forward to continuing to work with the member on those issues, and I table the letter from the Assistant Minister to the Prime Minister, the member for Perth.
