I want to thank the member for Calwell. He is a terrific supporter of the great organisations in his electorate who provide emergency relief like El Rahman, and I know that he is very committed to seeing food relief in particular provided to his constituents. Under Labor, the minimum wage is up more than $12,000 a year. Pensions are up more than $6½ thousand a year. JobSeeker is up more than $4,700 a year, and rent assistance is up by around $2,000 a year, an increase of over 50 per cent since we came to government.
We know that some Australians need extra support. No family should be faced with a choice of putting food on the table or paying the bills, and that's why we've also delivered record funding for emergency relief and financial wellbeing.
