On a point of order, Deputy Speaker, I notice the member for Grey has got his noise-cancelling headphones in and is watching something. It might be the Senate—who knows? I just want to understand whether that's permitted. I've always thought it's not, but it may be and, in fact, I'd actually be delighted if you made a ruling that it was. Presumably that would enable me to wear earplugs next time the member for Goldstein speaks and prevent the OH&S injuries which most of us endure. I had 20 minutes of it last night and I left feeling unwell. I've got no problem with it, and I think it would be a good precedent because we could all wear earplugs when the member for Goldstein is on his feet.
