The federal government it is, through the Commonwealth Environmental Water Holder. The fun fact here is that they already have 72 per cent of the water in the Murray-Darling Basin. And there is the great fear that there is about to be yet another purchase so that Labor can again get to that 450-gigalitre target and again stop irrigators irrigating.
When farmers irrigate—when irrigators put water into the channels and across the landscape—they are actually growing food; they are actually producing fibre; they're actually getting on with doing what the nation asks them to do, and those farmers are small-business people. What we're doing with that $107 million in the west and that $430 million in the southern connected system is stopping farmers from doing what we should be getting them to do, and that is farm. We have got the best farmers in all of the world. Why are we spending hundreds of millions of dollars stopping them from doing what they do best in all of the world? It's a nonsense; it's a folly; it's a farce. I just don't understand it, and nor do our farmers. They are desperate for good government. They're not getting it from this federal Labor government.
