House debates Questions without Notice
Private Health Insurance

My question is to the Minister for Health and Ageing. Parliamentary Budget Office analysis which I've commissioned shows that half of the savings from your private health insurance rebate cut to over-65s will come from age pensioners, so 1.5 million pensioners will lose $1.5 billion in support over the next three years. Minister, was cutting healthcare supports to pensioners really the only place that you could find budget savings?
