On 14 October 2024, the Acting Speaker received advice from the Chief Opposition Whip discharging Mr Pitt from the Select Committee on Nuclear Energy. In accordance with standing order 229(b), as the House was not expected to sit for several weeks, the discharge became effective on that date. I now call the minister to move a motion to resolve the membership of the committee.
