Statements by Members
Bowman Electorate: Infrastructure, Australian Broadcasting Corporation, Member for Warringah
1:57 pm
Andrew Laming (Bowman, Liberal Party) | Hansard source
Another gem in the crown of Redland road-building, the Quarry-Rickertt upgrade at Chelsea Road was complete last Friday, with lights switched on. Contrast that with state Labor, who have not duplicated a road in my electorate for over a decade. It's great also to see Queensland Labor hinting at removing these appalling vaccine mandates outside of the health and ageing sector, simply to help themselves through their integrity crisis.
Finally, the member for Warringah, who is over here, was quite happy to dump on me on 7.30 last year without obtaining any factual material or my version of events, without any presumption of innocence or due process. Of course, the star witness on the 7.30 episode apologised to me the moment she received a concerns notice, the ABC clinging to that episode and insisting on leaving it on air. It was all baseless rubbish from political opponents claiming to be mildly uncomfortable, and the national broadcaster was happy without any substantiation to broadcast it. It is a shame. To have this donation issue on the AEC referred to by the member for Warringah as 'pettiness'—I do seek your version of events, I've emailed you already for it, and I think you owe us an explanation. Will 7.30 be doing an episode on Ms Steggall? I won't be commenting.
