I seek leave to move the following motion:

That the House:

(1) notes that:

(a) moments ago, this government sought to prevent any debate on the Fair Work (Registered Organisations) Amendment (Ensuring Integrity No.2) Bill 2019;

(b) this is a chamber made up of people's representatives and it is constituted for the purposes of discussion, scrutiny and debate of legislation and other important matters;

(c) preventing any debate on a bill proposed for passage through this House is anti-democratic;

(d) this is a prime ministerial tantrum with the Prime Minister of Australia behaving like a juvenile schoolyard bully just because he didn't get his way last week.

(2) Therefore the House condemns the Prime Minister for:

(a) his petulance, intemperance, contempt for democracy and disdain for anyone who disagrees with him;

(b) thinking none of the usual rules of integrity and accountability apply to him.

Leave not granted.

I move:

That so much of standing orders be suspended as would prevent the Manager of Opposition Business from moving the following motion immediately:

That the House:

He believes in every other Australian being silent. That's what this mob are about. Born to rule—
