Petitioning the House is longstanding and important democratic right, and one which encourages involvement with the parliament by members of the public. With the introduction of the e-petitions system, this process has only been made easier and more accessible. It has only been a few short weeks since I tabled my last report, and the amount of petitions received electronically since that time reflects the ease in which the public can now engage in the petitioning process.
