My question is to the Minister representing the Special Minister of State. On 24 February 2014, the Department of Finance advised the Special Minister of State to reject former Senator Day's request to establish his taxpayer funded electorate office in a property he owned, saying:
Finance has concerns about how such a transaction might be perceived.
Why did the minister ignore this advice?
