In 20 years time, when Ladies in Black is having its second-decade anniversary performance, I will be able to say that I was at the opening night of that Queensland Theatre Company production of an Australian original musical. It is an amazing musical based on Madeleine St John's novel The Women in Blackbook by Carolyn Burns; music and lyrics by Tim Finn, the very famous musician; and directed by Simon Phillips. The Queensland Theatre Company is rightly proud of the work that it did in bringing such an amazing and wonderful musical production to the stage for the benefit of the audiences of Queensland. I have no doubt that it will be an instant classic and enjoyed by audiences for decades to come.

House adjourned at 21:30

The DEPUTY SPEAKER ( Mr Kelly ) took the chair at 10:30
