McMillan Electorate: Dairy Industry

There were 16 million babies born in China last year. What has that got to do with my electorate of McMillan? A lot, because we provide a lot of the powdered milk for the baby formula. The demand has skyrocketed, of course, since the tainting scandal of powdered milk in China caused six deaths and caused more than 300,000 to fall ill. The demand for our pure, clean, very safe powdered milk that is exported to China has skyrocketed.

Gippsland being the great place to invest that it is, it contributes 23 per cent of the nation's milk output, 60 per cent of Melbourne's water—
