Madam Speaker, I wish to make a personal explanation. The Manager of Opposition Business claimed during question time today that I was not serious about tackling crime in the building and construction industry. The opposition has proposed an AFP-led taskforce to crack down on these allegations of crime, using the extensive powers of the Australian Crime Commission. The most serious response is a police response, and that is what I, on behalf of Labor, have proposed.
