I have received a letter from the honourable member for Wentworth proposing that a definite matter of public importance be submitted to the House for discussion, namely:

The threat posed to free speech by the Government s proposed media reforms.

I call upon those members who approve of the proposed discussion to rise in their places.

More than the number of members required by the standing orders having risen in their places—

I have noticed that no one in this debate has defined what is meant by "Journalist". I research, discuss and post my opinions about Government issues on the Internet. Does that make me a journalist, and will I need to have a license to do so under this legislation? I am not a paid reporter.
