Questions without Notice

I understand the matter at issue goes to the preparation of statutory declarations. That is the matter that is subject to a police investigation. It is quite improper to comment further. I would also draw the attention of the House to a statement by the leader of the Liberal Party in New South Wales, Mr O’Farrell, who was asked on ABC Radio on 12 June about the handling of this matter. He said:

I think Kevin Rudd’s done the right thing in two respects. He has made it clear he wants to lift standards. He has also made it clear that if his MPs don’t behave they don’t have a future.

That is what the Liberal Party says in New South Wales. I wonder what Liberal Party it is in New South Wales these days, but that is the view of one Liberal leader. Obviously there is a different view in this place.
