The government opposes these amendments. These amendments stipulate that, in the event of a double dissolution election, voters must number 30 boxes below the line, if there are more than 30 candidates for a state or at least 12 for a territory. These are inconsistent with amendments to below-the-line voting that the Senate has already passed, and as such the government does not support them at all.
