I rise to be the first coalition speaker on the Health Legislation Amendment (Midwives and Nurse Practitioners) Bill 2009 and the related bills. The way I have to rise to do this is disappointing because I need to correct the record for Ms Roxon, the Minister for Health and Ageing, who has been scathing about the process in the Senate in relation to these bills.
