I have previously spoken in this House about the government's $107 million cuts to Victorian hospitals which are having a direct impact on my electorate. Five palliative-care beds from Wantirna Health have had to close as a result of Prime Minister Gillard's decision to cut health funds in my electorate. I have since discovered that the emergency department at the Angliss Hospital in the electorate of La Trobe, next door to mine, may also have to reduce its hours. They have already cut five surgical beds from that hospital. At the same time that they are cutting $107 million from hospitals they are investing $110 million in carbon tax promotion. Where are their priorities?
