Today in question time, when I stood up and pointed out that the Australian government, through Centrelink and Medicare, distributes $50,000 a minute, every minute of every hour of every day to Australian families, I did so bearing in mind that the record level of expenditure for Australian families is at a time when the unemployment rate is at its lowest level for 30 years.
