It is with deep regret that I inform the Senate of the death of three former senators: on 20 April 2026, of Kay Janet Denman, a senator for Tasmania from 1993 to 2005; on 5 June 2026 of the Hon. and Reverend Professor Michael Carter Tate, AO, a former minister and senator for Tasmania from 1978 to 1993; and, on 10 July 2026, of Derryn Nigel Hinch, a senator for Victoria from 2016 to 2019. I understand that arrangements will be made to move motions of condolence at a further date.
