I had to do a double take today when I read that the Liberal shadow treasurer plans to repeal our negative gearing changes, but then I remembered that that mob opposite actually voted against every single one of our housing measures, or have planned to undo those measures. That includes the Housing Australia Future Fund, built-to-rent and Help to Buy. Not only did they turn their backs on millions of Australians in their first term of government; they haven't learnt their lesson, and they are now turning their backs on millions more—people like 30-year-old Maddy, who is a healthcare worker, who said, as reported by the ABC, 'I don't even want to refer to housing as a dream. I think it's a minimum'—
